DealerRater - Nov 24, 2025
9/10/25
I just got home from buying new tires at Westboro Toyota. The experience was awful. Intending to use my never used spare,I had scheduled 3 new tires with one of the tire chains and discovered that the spare did not match the tires on the truck. This was the third odd thing discovered since buying the vehicle; Upon delivery the salesman was surprised to find no place for a key on the passenger side and no remote opener. When having a remote start installed the service desk claimed I had a remote opener but after some head scratching agreed I did not, and now this unmatched tire, which when I asked about it in my first call to Westboro, created the same head scratching.
I first called on 8/28. Asked for a service supervisor thinking this was going to require moving up the ladder, but was asked to explain the problem. I did, adding that I hoped that Westboro might explain this discrepancy and seeing if the dealership could show some consideration if I bought tires there. I was pushed to a supervisor and left a message. Over two days I did not get a call back.
I called again and explained and the person took the story down and said she was forwarding it to the service manager. No call back.
I called again on 9/3 and was abruptly pushed to a voicemail. I was upset by this treatment and called again and spoke to a woman who took down the whole story and assured me that while the manager was not in that day he would call. He called later that day, apologized for the prior treatment and assured me he would call the next day when he was back in the office. He did not call. I waited until late the next day to call him on his cell which he used to contact me and which he said was ok to call him on. He said he forgot. He then started to investigate the vehicle while I was on the phone and could hear the side conversations coming to a conclusion that Toyota had done some switching “at the port” and that the tires sold should have matched. I asked if he could help me out and after some investigation said he could match the spare and sent the message below with pricing. I did not challenge the pricing, just clarified what was included and asked for the text. He said I could think about it.
If you want to go with 3 hankook so would sell those to you for 590.00 plus tax
and shop charges and if you wanted the alignment also I would do that for 99.99
I texted back at 9:22 on 9/5 and said I would go with that plan. He responded the next morning and said the tires would be in by 9/9, I checked late on 9/9 and yes they were in and I could have them installed at 8:30am on 9/10. I was advised it would take 2 and a half hours, maybe three.
I arrived on 9/10 at 8:33. Checking in I was told there was no note about pricing. I found the text, shared it, the service person checked with the manager and the price quoted was agreed to. The service person advised that it would be about 2 and a half hours. I agreed. After about that length of time he came and told me there was a problem with one of the vales and there would be an extra charge. I agreed.
A few minutes before the four and a half mark I went to the desk to inquire. I saw my truck being driven into a bay. The service person was agitated when I complained about the delay and no check in and said, “It will be done in 20-25 minutes and you can just get out of here.” I complained that he had no reason to speak to me that way and went outside to walk off my frustration.
At about 1:15 the truck came around and I walked in, paid my bill and went out to go, deciding to check the work I walked around and found the spare tire in the bed of the truck. I went back in, got no apology, he went off, and a man came out of the service area to get the truck and was confused about what I wanted. He didn’t seem to understand that the truck had been in service for nearly 5 hours. He took the truck back into the service area and I waited in the drop off area. A few minutes later he returned to
